Tilapia cooked in an air fryer is a quick, easy meal with tender, flaky fish and a rich lemon butter sauce. This versatile recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, using fresh or frozen fillets.

Ingredients:

  • Tilapia Fillets: 4 fillets, 4-6 ounces each
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Smoked Paprika: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic Powder: 1/2 teaspoon

For the Lemon Butter Sauce:

  • Butter: 1/4 cup, melted
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Lemon Juice: 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh Parsley: 1 tablespoon, chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Set your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) and spray the basket with a light coat of cooking spray.
  2. Season the Tilapia: Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Rub this seasoning mix over both sides of each fillet.
  3. Air Fry: Arrange the fillets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 7-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fish is golden and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Prepare the Lemon Butter Sauce: While the tilapia is cooking, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.
  5. Serve: Once the tilapia is done, brush the lemon butter sauce over each fillet. Serve immediately for the best flavor.

Recipe Notes:

  • Storing Leftovers: Store any leftover tilapia in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
  • Freezing: This dish can be frozen for up to two months. For best results, let the fillets cool completely before storing them in freezer-safe bags.
  • Reheating: To reheat, use the microwave or return to the air fryer until warm and crispy.
